Sports program
With 5 boys’ teams and 2 girl’s team, FundaVida Sports trained 176 kids and teens during 2009. Practicing during the week and competing on the weekends, coaches mentor their players in far more than just soccer strategy. Coaches develop relationships with the players that enable them to teach about maturity, integrity and moral victories. “At first I couldn’t even control my temper on the field, but now I know what it takes to succeed in life, and I know it’s worth it,” says 17 year old, Mario Calderon.
Two highlights from this past year include:
25 players practiced against the elite Saprissa soccer team in the Saprissa Stadium.
14 players attended an exclusive sports camp,
